Science Room News

It’s all happening in the science room this term! Our science topic for term 3 is Earth and Space Science. Ranging from learning about the seasons in Prep to learning about volcanoes, tsunamis and earthquakes in grade 6. Here are some students working on their models of the planets. They are finding out how far away each of the 8 planets are from the sun (150 million km for Earth).

You may have heard that we have a new member in the Science Room. Meet Chelly, our short neck turtle. Chelly is extremely cute and cheeky. He enjoys a feed of prawns and fish each morning. Here he is posing for the camera!

Busy times in the science room

Lots of fun things have been happening in the science room this term whilst learning about Chemical Science.

Prep B had fun making rain clouds and learning about how and when it rains.

Grade 3/4 students have been busy learning all about crystals. They’ve had a go at trying to make their own using borax, epsom salts or sugar.

And we have moved one step closer to acquiring our turtle. These fish are cycling the water with bacteria to prepare the tank. Our turtle is still at the shop at the aquarium in Narre Warren if you would like to meet him/her (too early to tell).

Well done the Beacy Bats

Congratulations to the BEACY BATS who performed in their very first Aerobics competition on Saturday the 28thof April.

The team was extremely excited and performed amazingly. All of their hard work paid off when they came 1stplace, which was a tremendous effort for their first competition.

We can’t wait to work hard and continue our rehearsal to compete in the State Championship in June.

Well done Beacy Bats!

We have had a great start to the year with students attending all specialist classes. There is lots of learning and fun to be had.
