In Grade Five and Six the students have been studying different Australian artists. They first looked at the Ned Kelly Series by Sidney Nolan discussing different aspects of these paintings. The students were taught about perspective and using a horizon line when painting landscapes. They were then asked to paint a picture that is their interpretation of Sidney Nolan’s work. They had to take into consideration the different and varied colours that are found in the outback of Australia.
Darcy’s picture demonstrated all aspects that were asked of the students. She also used different tones to make her picture stand out. Well done Darcy!
